My wife and I had our wedding welcome dinner in an art gallery. I’m a photographer and writer, and my wife, Faith Kaufman, is a designer with experience in museum graphic design. This felt like the perfect opportunity to combine our skills and passions to create a gallery show introducing our guests to the story of our relationship.

As our wedding was a destination for many guests (Cincinnati), it felt appropriate to showcase our relationship through some of the many journeys we took together. A journey really can be anywhere, some were in our own backyard (Red Hook), while others were to the other side of the world (Nepal). I took inspiration from “How to with John Wilson,” writing a storyline that doesn’t always pair literally with the imagery, but takes a little imagination to connect the dots. A visual “half-rhyme.”

For the final wall, we created an interactive moment where our friends and family could add Honeymoon suggestions with stickers.
